Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a prescription or physician's referral to come for treatment?

Ohio is a "Direct Access" state, which means you do not need a prescription or referral from your physician in order to start physical therapy treatment.  With your consent, Body Dynamix PT will work with your physician or other health care provider in the coordination of your care.

One important advantage to direct access is that pain and injuries can be evaluated more quickly, thus reducing the risk for further physical damage and the need for more extensive or prolonged therapy. This can often be the difference between your condition being temporary or chronic.  Thus, we encourage you to call us immediately if you experience an injury or have pain.

For all dance wellness and injury prevention services, you do not need a prescription from your doctor.

Do you accept my insurance?

Body Dynamix PT is a fee-for-service clinic, so we do not contract with private insurance companies or other third-party payers.  This policy frees us from restrictive insurance policies, which try to dictate patient care.  The result is that we can spend more time and energy where it belongs: On getting you better! Our fees reflect the value of the expertise we provide, so they are not contingent upon approval by third-party payers.

Payment is due in full at each session (or at your initial visit, if you are purchasing a package option).  We accept cash, checks, HSA and all major credit cards.

If you wish, you may submit claims to your insurance carrier after receiving treatment.  You will be given a payment receipt, which you can use to request insurance reimbursement.  While we are glad to provide you with any necessary documentation, Body Dynamix PT does not complete or file these claims for you, and we cannot guarantee that you will receive reimbursement.  Any payment from your insurance should be sent directly to you.

Why choose Body Dynamix PT?

Body Dynamix PT specializes in the needs of dancers and stage performers.  An individualized plan of care is developed that is both age- and skill-appropriate, ranging from beginners to professionals.  We will work with you to minimize lost rehearsal and training time, while making sure that you are both able and ready to return to performing safely.

We treat only 1 person per 50-minute appointment, so you will never be "double booked" with another client.  On average, a patient will be seen in our clinic 1 visit per week for 5-8 visits. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but this depends on your condition and personal history, not your insurance plan.

In addition to treating your acute symptoms, your therapist will instruct you in proper body mechanics that will help you to perform at your highest level and to maintain your overall wellness, even when your formal therapy is finished.

For younger dancers, does a parent need to be present for the evaluation and/ or treatments?

A parent or legal guardian must accompany a minor for the entirety of the initial visit to complete the necessary paperwork and to discuss the plan of care. On subsequent appointments, parents must accompany their child to/ from our clinic, but they are not required to observe or to remain in the facility. If they wish to stay, parents may observe directly in the therapy room or wait in the lobby until their child's treatment is complete.

Please remember that we must maintain a strict time schedule to ensure that everyone receives their full session, so plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early.

What is your cancellation policy?

At Body Dynamix PT, we require that cancellations be made 24 hours (or more) prior to your appointment time. Clients who provide less than 24 hours' notice will be charged a cancellation fee of $60. We maintain this policy as a courtesy for other patients, who wish to be scheduled, and for new patients who are on our waiting list.

Will I need to purchase any equipment or tools for my therapy?

During treatment, you will have access to all equipment, tools, and other supplies that are necessary for your specific plan of care.  Some patients inquire about purchasing these items for personal use, so we have created a resources page to provide more information about the most commonly recommended tools.
